Connecting Your Business

Connecting Your Business

At Back2Back Ministries, we believe that socially conscious businesses and business professionals can play a key role in helping us develop the lives and character of the orphans we serve.  By partnering together, we’re able to provide each child with the opportunity to earn high school and college degrees, be able to grow up in loving and stable home environments, and ultimately, live wonderfully fulfilling lives.   We accomplish this with entrepreneur attitudes and determination in creating on-going funding in the following ways:

Self-Sustaining Businesses

Back2Back Ministries believes in the importance of our children’s home in becoming self-sufficient in supporting their operational needs.  Back2Back works hand-in-hand with the director’s of individual homes in creating business opportunities that can drive revenue for basic necessities such as food, clothing, housing and education.  These businesses are also critical in teaching children different skill sets, self reliance and taking pride in one’s work.  To date, in conjunction with individuals and businesses, Back2Back has helped establish the Casa Hogar Douglas Plant Nursery, Casa Hogar Manantial de Amor General-Product Store, Casa Hogar del Norte Bakery and the El Retiro Juvenel Ropes Course.

Family Christian Stores (FCS) began their partnership with Back2Back Ministries out of a sheer desire to serve orphans in Monterrey, Mexico.  Over time, FCS has recognized that their desire to be a socially responsible corporation, has also generated other tangible business benefits such as an increase in employee pride and job satisfaction, enhanced vendor relationships and increased customer involvement with their James Fund Foundation which supports Back2Back Ministries.

In 2006, FCS Chief Operating Officer, Cliff Bartow, stated that their company was compelled to take action when they saw the squalor of the teen boy’s facility at Casa Hogar Douglas.  “We knew that God wanted us to do something.  It smelled of raw sewage, had broken windows, a leaky roof, and the fact that no adult supervisor would live there was convicting.”

The  dream of Casa de James was born.  The James Fund was able to underwrite the cost of building a new dorm.  Through the focus of four mission trips (and that of dozens of other groups) the dorm was built and immediately occupied by the boys.

In addition to Casa de James, the James Fund has funded the building of two of the “teen homes” on the Back2Back campus in Monterrey, Mexico.

Corporate Training and Development

Does your business believe in investing in your employee’s communication skills and team work?  Are you launching a new initiative at work and looking for a way to energize your people?  Do you want your company to be focused on more than just profit and be more socially conscious?  If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then Back2Back Ministries rope’s course at the El Retiro Juvenel (ERJ) children’s home is a perfect solution.

Working in conjunction with the director of the ERJ children’s home, Back2Back Ministries has developed both high and low rope initiatives to help improve the performance of your corporate team.  Let our skilled facilitator’s develop a custom program that will not only improve the performance level of your people at work, but encourage and motivate them to be social change agents in Mexico and in their own communities by participating in several work projects at our children’s homes.
