Mission Guest Facility and Sierra Madre Christian Academy

In order to reach more children and teens and provide greater services to the children’s homes we work with, we need to develop more living space at our facility to house more mission guests.   We have also begun construction on a new building for Sierra Madre Christian Academy, the school for the children of our missionary families.  Current needs for SMCA are $45,000 to build an additional dorm on the 2nd floor.

The James Round Table

The James Round Table was formed by two of our board members; Mr. Mike Ellison and Mrs. Martha Lindner.  Both have spoken boldly about their desire to bring needed support to the ministry’s teen education program, emergency fund, and support for the staff’s work in championing deeper personal relationships with the children at the homes.

Program Description The calling to the James Round Table membership entails a commitment of standing alongside Back2Back financially with a gift of $5000.  As a member, your financial contribution will support these four areas: •    Provide funds for the staff to meet the ongoing needs of the children’s homes they champion •    Support a fund for emergency needs for the people served in Monterrey •    Meet the full funding needs of the education program for teens in prepa (high school) and college •    Create startup funding for a Development Director – support for 12-18 months until self-sufficient.

As a ministry, in our partnership with James Round Table members we are committed to providing monthly updates stating the impact of the programs being funded, an invitation to a semi-annual luncheon to hear firsthand from our ministry staff, and invitations to join missions’ opportunities in Monterrey.

Hope Program

Program Description The Hope Program is built around residence style living on our new campus property addition.  Students who have come through the local children’s homes are in invited to join the program at the end of their public education, the end of their 9th grade year at age 15.  Eight teens will live in a home with college educated house parents who support in the teens studies and pursuit of an academic or vocational career.

Projected Growth Studies of the current children’s homes we work with show that within 3 years there will be 50 students entering our program. Two homes are being completed this October with 4 more slated for construction over the next 2 years.

Needs Monthly financial support is needed to operate these homes.  Funding needs include utilities, food, clothing, household, and transportation expenses.

Current Funding and Future Funding Needs 2007/2008 school year Total program needs is $3000 for the 2 homes in operation this Fall 2008.

Sponsor Teen Education

Program Description Education through degreed programs in high school and college is one of the most strategic avenues for teens in Monterrey to break the cycle of poverty and economic hardship they face.  The Back2Back staff in Monterrey place a tremendous emphasis on helping the teens pursue a degreed program.  Currently there are 12 students enrolled in private High school (public school ends at the 9th grade in Mexico) and 5 college students studying in the local universities.  All the enrolled students are receiving scholarships from their schools which help with a portion of their educational costs.

Projected Growth Studies of the current children’s homes we work with show that within 3 years there will be 50 students entering our Hope program and pursuing a degreed program in high school or college.  Needs Laptop computers, backpacks, calculators, school supplies and tuition.

Current Funding and Future Funding Needs 2008/2009 school year Total educational support needs are $72,000 per year or $6,000 per month.

Staff Support

Missionaries and staff members raise private support to cover their salaries so the ministry can deliver more services to the people it ministers to.

Program Description Each staff member is fully funded with all resources needed to meet the needs of the people they serve.  Our staff, both Mexico and Stateside, support and maintain a personal relationship with each Children’s Home, the teen program, and the ongoing American mission teams.  Each of theses relationships all focus on the growth and development of each child.

Needs Our current needs are over $3,000 in monthly staff support.

Projected Growth We have three staff currently in the process of fundraising to come on staff full time.  We project the addition of one staff couple each year for the next two years. In addition, our current staff continually needs additional funding for their individual account.

Current Funding and Future Funding Needs Fully funded staff by December 2007
