Hope Maglich
SMCA Teacher
God changed the direction of Hope's life on her very first mission trip to Monterrey in 1999. After serving for a week with Back2Back, she knew that God was calling her to the mission field for at least some portion of her life. For the next eight years, she stayed involved with Back2Back in many capacities, one of which was serving as a summer nanny for the Massey family, who were Back2Back missionaries. Her experience in Mexico, as well as ministry in the US, captured her heart for the lost and broken in this world. God has filled her with compassion for those who are abandoned, neglected, and searching for Jesus. Her desire is to see healing and wholeness come to the children and families that Back2Back serves.
Hope graduated from Miami University of Ohio in May 2008 with a degree in education. Her first year with B2B she served as a SMCA teacher for the staff children. Feeling God had some changes in mind for her, she began working with the Rio ministries during her second year on staff. Now Hope serves full time in the Rio areas, where she teaches children’s Bible classes, provides support to impoverished children and families through counseling, and helps with relief efforts. Hope is also working to develop children’s ministries within the casa hogares and you can find her serving the mission teams who come down throughout the year. Hope says, “It is a privilege to be using my gifts and talents to serve the families and children of Monterrey. My prayer is to see Christ come into the lives of these people and do His transforming work.”
